At K Nine Angels we believe no family should miss
out on the love and devotion our Angels can bring to your home.
My name is Sheila, and my family has been very fortunate to have been
able to experience the love and devotion that a dog can bring to a
family.
So
we decided to try to pass it on to other families. Nothing is more
pleasing to us than to see the love and happiness in those families
eyes when they receive their new puppy.
We want our angels to be all they can be. So let me
tell you some of the steps we take to prepare them for their new life
experiences with your family.
From the day they are born they are handled by my husband and I.
Their mothers'look forward to this, because they were raised this way.
There is a lot of trust between our ladies, Bob, and I. Our ladies are
not left alone during labor or delivery. I stay with them for support
and help if needed. When we have more than one lady in labor our whole
family chips in so that no one is left alone.
At three weeks old, our angels get their first worming. By this time
their eyes are open and are already developing their personalities. At
four weeks old they are wobbly but are starting
to learn to walk. Mommy is trying to coral them constantly.
Six weeks is a milestone in our angels lives, they are eating solid
food, have taken their first car ride to the veterinarian's office to
receive their first check up, and had their first complete grooming
session in our kitchen.
They have also been introduced to Samantha our 90 pound Labrador. She
is a guardian angel to our puppies and their parents.
She is very
protective over all the animals on our property. She would have been a
wonderful mother.
Leo, one of our cats, also meets the new puppies when they are
six weeks old. He is never sure if he likes them in the beginning so he
stays up high for the first day until they get comfortable seeing him
around. Then he eventually makes his way to the floor to check them
out. After a while they all get used to each other and Leo gives his
seal of approval by spending more and more time with them.
We have a grandson, who will be two in February (2010) and at this
time
we start letting him play with the puppies and feed them. This helps to
tire him and the puppies so that everyone sleeps well at night
including Grandma & Grandpa.
By the time our angels reach seven weeks old they have had a lot of new
experiences, but also have started to crate train, potty train, and
learn to play with toys.
At eight weeks old our angles are learning to climb stairs, walk on a
leash, and depending on size learn some basic obedience. By this time
our Angels are old enough to start meeting prospective new families.
Until our Angels choose a new family, they continue with their training
and social education here at K Nine Angels.
